Even More Treco Biomass Boilers are Now MCS approved!

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Following a recent inspection by BRE, we are proud to announce that even more of Treco’s domestic biomass boilers are now Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) qualified, a requirement by law for installations under 45kW.

As well as adding more MCS approved biomass boiler products to our portfolio, all of Treco’s domestic installers are also MCS accredited, so can install, commission and maintain your biomass boiler, wherever you are on mainland UK.

The Guntamatic Biostar 15 Flex, 15 Box and 15 W along with the Guntamatic Biostar 12 Flex, 12 Box and 12 W join our comprehensive list of sub-45kW biomass boilers.

This means that Treco have one of the UK’s largest range of domestic biomass boiler heating systems for you, whatever your property size!

Website Update!

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

We have been busy over the past couple of months updating our website and adding new features.

Content and Installations Map

We’ve revised and updated content across the site and added some great new features including a map showing some of our installations across the UK, which now number in excess of 250.

Woodfuel Suppliers Map

Another new feature is the Biomass Fuel Suppliers Map. Biomass fuel is best sourced locally and people always seem to be surprised at just how many local biomass fuel suppliers there are to their local area. So, we’ve added the Biomass Energy Centre’s Woodfuel Suppliers map to the Treco website as a resource for those searching for good local biomass fuel suppliers in their area.

RHI Calculator

We’ve also added Treco’s RHI Calculator, a simple tool shows the installed cost of a Treco biomass boiler system, potential earnings from the RHI scheme over 20 years, fuel savings and the payback period.

It only takes a second to input your fuel usage and see exactly how the Renewable Heat Incentive will help you to not only heat your buildings for less but to receive payments under the scheme.

Introducing Our New Recruits!!!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Growing awareness of biomass boiler technology, environmental issues, rising fossil fuel costs, anticipation of government support for renewable energy and Treco’s growing reputation have placed us in a period of growth.

As a result, we have been recruiting heavily for our head office in Tiverton, operations centre in Silverton and for a number of regional sales offices around the UK. We are pleased to introduce the following new recruits and to welcome them to the team!

Rory Carr – Project Manager

Rory is an experienced Project Manager from the manufacturing/R&D and has come on board to help the Operations Team manage an increasing workload. Day to day, Rory manages biomass boiler project design and installation, co-ordinates repairs, administers Treco’s Microgeneration Certification Scheme, parts lists and installer availability.

David Knox – Marketing Manager

David joins us as Marketing Manager and brings a wealth of marketing experience into Treco. He is responsible for Treco’s visual brand identity, all of our brochures, van liveries and printed marketing material, the website, blog, twitter, events and trade shows, PR and advertising programmes

Jonathan Lee – Design Co-ordinator

Jonathan comes from a contractual building services background. He has been with us since February, on a part time basis, and we are delighted that Jonathan has decided to join us full time. Jonathan produces the CAD drawings from which the layout designs for our biomass boiler heating systems are created.

Martin Lewis – Stores Assistant
More growth means more installations and that we have more boilers, fuel and heat stores, boiler rooms and components moving through our stores. Martin Lewis is a very experienced warehouse and stores person and joins our rapidly expanding stores department to assist with ordering biomass boiler parts, organising deliveries and managing our stock.

Stephen West – Technical Surveyor

Stephen comes to Treco having spent many years in technical installation and sales roles in the heating industry. His role as Technical Surveyor is to carry out site surveys, prepare installation designs programmes for completion and checking that specifications are accurate, complete and satisfy the project requirements.

RHI Update – Expected to Start at the End of November

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

We are delighted that the European Commission has now given State Aid approval to the RHI and that the tariff for Small Biomass Boiler (Less than 200kW) installations is unchanged at 7.9p per KWh for Tier 1 and 2.0p for Tier 2.

DECC was planning to launch the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for non-domestic generators on 30 September 2011. State aid approval was a necessary condition for the scheme to go ahead. As part of that process, the European Commission expressed concerns that the large biomass tariff was set too high.

European State Aid was therefore approved subject to the large biomass (above 1MW) tariff being reduced from 2.7p per KWh to 1p per KWh. Revised regulations have now been re-laid in Parliament to reflect the required amendment to the tariff for large scale biomass. We hope the scheme will be open to applications by the end of November 2011, subject to Parliamentary approval.
