MCS stands for Microgeneration Certification Scheme, a mark of quality and demonstrates compliance to industry standards for microgeneration products used to produce heat from renewable sources. MCS also certifies installation companies to ensure the microgeneration products have been installed and commissioned to the highest standard for the consumer. Find out more about this scheme here.
The Domestic Heat Incentive currently includes only single biomass installations up to 45kW so MCS accredited installations and products are a requirement for domestic applicants into this scheme.
Accreditation into MCS also requires that emissions are below 30g/Gj Particulates and 150 g/Gj of Nitrogen Oxide. The emissions of all Guntamatic biomass boilers in the Treco range are available to download from the relevant boiler’s product page.
Below is a list and links to further information about the biomass boilers in the Treco range which are MCS-accredited, along with their MCS number and a link to the relevant page on the MCS website.
The Guntamatic Biostar is a range of highly efficient wood pellet boilers. With heat outputs of 12, 15 or 23kW, the Biostar range is eminently suitable for domestic and light commercial applications.. The Biostar will burn at its most efficient and trouble-free with ENPlus A1 wood pellets from a quality-assured supplier. The entire range is Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) compliant and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited.
Biostar Box - Includes prefabricated fuel store, see the relevant MCS pages below:
Biostar 12 Box MCS BH0048/20
Biostar 15 Box MCS BH0048/17
Biostar 23 Box MCS BH0048/14
Biostar W – Includes an integrated 400-litre fuel store for the Biostar boiler. This can contain enough wood pellets for up to a month in a well-insulated building. See the relevant MCS pages below:
Biostar 12 W MCS BH0048/21
Biostar 15 W MCS BH0048/18
Biostar 23 W MCS BH0048/15
Biostar Flex - The Flex is an option for assisting the construction of a custom built wood pellet fuel store. It includes a vacuum hose up to 25m long which connects a Guntamatic Biostar to a custom-built wood pellet fuel store. Wood pellets are then fed into the vacuum hose from the fuel store by an auger. See the relevant MCS pages below;
Biostar 12 Flex MCS BH0048/19
Biostar 15 Flex MCS BH0048/16
Biostar 23 Flex MCS BH0048/13
The Guntamatic Biocom is a range of versatile wood pellet boilers with outputs from 30-400kW (up to 100kW with a single unit). The Biocom will burn at its most efficient and trouble-free with ENPlus A1 or A2 wood pellets from a quality-assured supplier.
The entire range is Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) compliant and, the Biocom 30 and 40kW models are Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited. As with the Biostar range, Biocom can be supplied as 'Box' with a range of prefabricated fuel store size options, or as Flex which assists in the construction of a custom-built wood pellet fuel store. See the relevant MCS pages below:
The Guntamatic Powerchip is a range of versatile biomass boilers with outputs from 20-400kW (up to 100kW with a single unit). The entire range is Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) compliant and all models below 45kW are Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited. See the relevant MCS pages below:
The Guntamatic BMK is a range of modern, highly efficient Austrian log boilers, cased in sleek and hard wearing stainless steel. The whole range is RHI compliant and the 20, 30 and 40kW are MCS accredited. See the relevant MCS pages below:
