Ah, it’s that time of the year again – at the end of one and at the beginning of another. We tend to be a little more reflective and appreciative of all that we may have gone through and how we fared the other end.
We, here at Treco, are feeling just as reflective about the year. We’ve taken on challenges, jumped through hoops, fought our way through mud and despite our feet being weighed down by clods of clay, we never gave up... We took everything in our stride, picked ourselves up and simply marched on. And with all that stress, two of our directors managed to lose all of 4st between them! Move aside Weight Watchers, I’m taking this ‘Stress Diet’ head on. I believe it’s fair to say that after all we’ve been through and weight we’ve lost between all of us, we’re proud to be standing here today having achieved all that we have. Oh, I could list them all but...ok, I will list them all since you insist.
Having increased our workforce to nearly 60 people and our turnover by 50%, we decided to acquire a second site to act as storage space for spare parts for our boilers. In addition, we have injected some investment in the production of our interface units and software.
We have also been working tirelessly to increase our partner network particularly with our friends in Scotland. Due to a growing customer base in the South East, we now have field-based service engineers on the ground.
2014 has also seen us reach another two significant milestones. Along with successfully attaining our largest project to date with 4km of district heating, we also shook the hands of Richard Collins and Ashley Stokes in a joint venture that saw the birth of Wye Valley Energy. We are very excited about this partnership as they are not only two of our close friends in the industry but we have also worked together for a long time. So more than just history between us, let’s just say there’s definitely also chemistry.
After writing all of that, I am concerned that I may have given you the wrong impression about us. We are not just about the practical, oh no, life would be too dull otherwise. We know how to have our share of fun. Who mentioned the Christmas party again?! Ok, so we had just a little too much fun at the Christmas do. I dare say October fared a little worse in comparison when we made our first trip to the infamous Oktoberfest with our partners. What happened in Munich, stays in Munich. Need I say more?
We are also a very proud owner of a double-decker fun bus, sorry I meant exhibition bus. Yes, you read right. Was this purchase made whilst in Munich? Hmmm... I wonder?! But oh, imagine the heads we’ll turn when we rock up at an exhibition! If I were you, I’d go just to see the bus.
We’re almost there... 2015 is just a hop, skip and a jump away. We’ve been reflective and ever so appreciative but we’re also excitedly peeking round the corner as we can’t wait to start another year and do it all over again – bigger and better this time. And we take pride in every single one of our employees who have worked tirelessly and form the backbone of Treco, and will continue investing heavily in training and development courses. We will also take the opportunity to review all processes and procedures and further improve our unrivalled support of our customers.
2015 has a sweet sound to it, don’t you think? Well, we do. We’re like a kid with a birthday coming up and we’re counting down the days eagerly. Since you’re asking, it’ll be our 10th birthday soon. Oh, don’t worry about getting us any presents...ok, maybe just the one then.
We are raring to go and see the new year in, carrying along a sack full of lessons, experience, success, hope, determination and aspirations. Nothing’s going to stop us from marching on proudly. We’re also honoured to have gained so many loyal customers who will still be beaming like Cheshire cats with their biomass boilers for a while yet. And we’re proud we made it happen for them.
