A group of the Sales and Operations team at Treco recently scaled the Brecon Beacon as part of a team building weekend. The group planned to depart on Friday afternoon but in true hard working style some of the team didn’t get away from the Treco office until 7pm.
After a night in a youth hostel and an excellent lamb curry cooked by Rory, Treco’s Technical Sales Co-ordinator, the team set off early. They worked tirelessly while enjoying the beautiful views of The Central Beacon scenery, making a bee line for the Pen-y-Fan peak standing at 886 metres above sea-level, the highest peak in the south.
Rory was the first to hit the peak with Chris Edwards selflessly making sure everyone else made it to the top before him (although Chris has asked that we say Ben Bevan was last!). The team were well kitted out in walking gear and were slightly dismayed when they reached the top and fellow walkers seemed to have managed it with far less high tech gear.
They made it back in good time, in no way encouraged by the hotel bar waiting for them in Cardiff! The group are working towards a similar venture, next time mountain biking, when the competitiveness will no doubt continue.
