Service and Breakdown Engineer

  • Permanent 40 hour week plus overtime

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Servicing of boilers nation wide and undertaking all relevant paperwork
  • Accurately assess parts and labour required for servicing / breakdowns / further action work
  • Troubleshoot issues, and attend breakdowns
  • Provide detailed reports and further action for breakdowns, including parts lists if required
  • Provide technical support to customers over the phone
  • Supervising / training of any junior members of staff where applicable
  • Support the technical manager
  • Assist clients and Aftersales team with technical issues
  • Ensuring all H&S processes and procedures are adhered too
  • Compile servicing reports, and adhering to a high standard of paperwork
  • Assist the installation team as and when required
  • Working away during week when required

Minimum Core Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Ability to proactively work and contribute as part of a team and on own initiative, and work alone
  • Effective skills in planning, organising and prioritising personal workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, other trades and clients
  • Microsoft office suite
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Full Driving License

Desirable Experience:

  • Welding
  • IPAF/PASMA License
  • Working on biomass boilers

Personality and disposition:

  • Flexible attitude and ability to learn new skills
  • Can be relied on to meet tight deadlines
  • Initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving capability

Trainee Service Engineer

Due to the nature of the role and training requirements, all applicants will need to be a commutable distance from our offices in Tiverton, Devon. The role will also require work to be undertaken at various sites nationally, meaning applicants will need to be comfortable with staying away regularly during the week.

  • Undertaking works as required for maintenance contracts
  • Support the technical manager

Boiler Installation Engineer

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and assist in commercial (biomass) boiler installations and project work on a national basis
  • Provide technical support to Treco operations staff as required
  • Undertake detailed snagging lists and reports for commissioning’s, and assist with any parts lists if required
  • Troubleshoot issues, faults and attend breakdowns
  • Undertake, and supervise boiler builds
  • Provide detailed reports and further action for breakdowns, including parts lists if needed
  • Undertake servicing and maintenance of boilers when required
  • Accurately assess parts and labour required for issues / servicing / breakdowns
  • Responsible for undertaking risk assessments for all site visits
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Supervising any junior members of staff where applicable
  • Ensuring Health and Safety is adhered to
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Portray a positive image of the Treco Group
  • Complete timesheets and expenses where necessary
  • Follow the Company Processes and procedures
  • Maintain the Company van and tools in good condition
  • Working away during week when required
