Climate change: UK to speed up target to cut carbon emissions:

Return to the article list

The UK government recently set new climate change commitments that will put the UK on course to cut carbon emissions by 78% by 2035. These targets were based on recommendations from the Climate Change Committee. These commitments  are to become law and bring forward the current target for reducing carbon emissions by 15 years, which would be a world-leading position. In order to achieve this low carbon heating will play a prominent role as will expanding offshore wind to produce more renewable electric, more electric cars will be needed, as well as lifestyle choices like driving and flying less, cycling and walking more, and cutting down on meat and dairy.
