Core RHI Consultancy Services

RHI Applications (Historic Review & Completion)

While the scheme is closed, many existing systems may still require historical application review or completion assistance due to pending appeals or partial accreditation. Full applications are required for all replacement boiler and relocation applicaitons.

  • Service: Completing application documents, addressing outstanding queries from Ofgem, and submitting final technical information to achieve or maintain full accreditation.
RHI Amendments (Scheme Changes)

Any significant changes to your accredited system— heat load adjustments, or the addition of heat meters—must be formally declared. Failure to do so is a common cause of payment suspension.

  • Service: Preparation and submission of complex RHI Amendments, ensuring compliance with current technical standards, including eligible heat use declarations
10-Year Meter Replacements

Heat meters are crucial RHI equipment and must be replaced before they are 10 years old to ensure RHI compliance. If this is not done then when Ofgem find out they fine the account holder 10% of RHI payments from the 10 year mark until the meter is replaced.

  • Service: Managing the entire meter replacement process, including sourcing, installation by an accredited engineer, testing, and submission of the Meter Replacement Declaration to Ofgem.
Heat Loss Assessments (HLA) & Heat Loss Calculations (HLC)

Required to calculate a quarterly heat loss figure which then allows just the main generation meter to be used to calculate your RHI payments as opposed to multiple end user meters that record the eligible heat use.

  • Service: Conducting full site surveys and generating certified Heat Loss Assessments (HLAs) and Heat Loss Calculations to determine the maximum eligible heat use under RHI rules.
Compliance Case Resolution (Payment Suspensions)

If Ofgem has flagged your system for non-compliance, suspended payments, or demanded repayment, you need immediate, expert intervention.

  • Service: Diagnosing the compliance issue (e.g. fuel irregularity, metering fault, ineligible heat use), liaising directly with Ofgem on your behalf, preparing a comprehensive defence, and working to reinstate your payments.
RHI Estimated Data & Late Data Calculations

Submitting meter readings late or having meter failure can lead to Ofgem applying estimated data, which often results in underpayment or compliance issues.

  • Service: Conducting historical data analysis, reconciling manual and automated meter readings, and preparing a justified late data submission or estimated data challenge to secure the correct retroactive payments.
Independent Report on Metering Arrangements (IRMA)

The IRMA is a mandatory report required for certain complex installations, typically those with multiple heat loads, heat exchangers, or complex boundary arrangements. It provides independent assurance that your metering accurately measures only eligible heat use.

  • Service: Conducting full site assessments, auditing meter placement, reviewing installation schematics, and producing the official IRMA report signed by a certified independent professional, ensuring all non-eligible heat is excluded from payments.
